A concert by the charismatic Portuguese singer Ana Laíns will take place this Friday, June 4, 2021, at 9 pm, in front of the Croatian National Theater in Zagreb (Trg Republike Hrvatske 15).

This event, promoted by the Embassy of Portugal in Zagreb, in collaboration with the National Theater of Croatia, aims to commemorate the Day of Portugal, Camões and the Portuguese Communities, as well as to mark the final chapter of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

'Mátria Lingua' is the name of an intimate performance in which the artist will be accompanied by the talented Paulo Loureiro (piano), Carlos Lopes (accordion) and Bruno Chaveiro (Portuguese guitar), taking us on a musical and poetic journey through Portugal, introducing to Fado the greatest poets of the Portuguese language.

The Ambassador of Portugal in Croatia, Paula Leal da Silva, visited Zadar, with the purpose of, together with the Rector of the University of Zadar, Professor Doctor Dijana Vican, inaugurating an exhibition about José Saramago, the Portuguese Nobel Prize of Literature.

The exhibition will be on display at the Student Club "Božo Lerotić", from 17 to 28 May 2021 (weekdays, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.).

 

On May 9th, Day of Europe, the Faces of Europe Exhibition closing ceremony occurred at the French Pavilion in Zagreb. The event was organized by the Embassies of Germany, Portugal and Slovenia, in the context of the trio of EU presidencies, together with the European Commission. HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Affairs, Gordan Grlic Radman attended.

The closing ceremony consisted of two stunning performances. The No Borders Trio, integrated by Barbara Tanze (Germany), Eduardo Roan (Portugal) and Stela Pirnat (Slovenia), offered the audience 5 magnificent arias, including the aria “Nada” with lyrics by Fernando Pessoa. Also a ballet Pas de Deux was brilliantly danced by the principal ballet dancers of the Zagreb National Theater, the Portuguese Guilherme Gameiro Alves  and his wife Iva Vicic Gameiro.

The event marked the excellent cooperation work between the German, Portuguese and Slovenian Trio of Presidencies.
